Post Mod Oil feed Pipe

The two oil feed pipes that sit underneath the rocker cover were modified in A3 models > in an attempt to improve the oil supply to the top end of the camshafts. Most models have the post mod pipes fitted, but some have not, the unmodified pipes are only 4mm mm in diameter, whilst the wider pipes are 6mm in diameter. (2 required, sold singly)

It is important that the oil pick up screen in the sump is cleaned, as it easily clogs, and reduces the oil system's efficiency. This kit, compising an assortment of 33 individual gaskets, O rings and oil seals, and a pattern oil filter will help you remove, and refit the sump.

In extreme cases this oil pick up screen can become very clogged up, and impossible to clean, especially if silicone sealants have been used on the engine gaskets !! It's often easier and safer to renew the screen.
